Phonak

Life is on for everyone.

Notice: Please be aware that due to a Samsung update, some Phonak device wearers may not be able to connect incoming phone calls to their hearing aids. The devices connect as normal when phoning outwards however. Phonak and Samsung are working on hopefully fixing this issue shortly.

Starting in 1947, Phonak focuses on what matters most: helping to improve speech understanding, changing the lives of hearing aid wearers and having a general positive impact on the world around it. Known as a market leader, as well as an innovator within the world of digital hearing aid products and technology. In 2017, Phonak introduced the first ever hearing aid to feature a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery to help provide all-day power. A year later, in 2018, Phonak went on to introduce the first full-feature Bluetooth hearing aid, the Audéo Marvel.

Phonak Lyric

Phonak offer the Lyric 4, which is a completely invisible hearing aid. It’s worn all day for several months at a time through day-to-day activities such as exercise and showering. Traditional hearing aids capture and process noises and sound outside of the ear, whilst Lyric uses the natural anatomy of the ear to amplify and provide a full and natural listening experience.

Bluetooth Technology

In November 2018, Phonak launched Marvel, the first hearing aid capable of streaming audio – in stereo – directly to and from any Bluetooth-enabled audio device. Following on from that, in 2020, Phonak introduced Paradise, which added the ability to connect up to 8 Bluetooth devices simultaneously. Now, Phonak is on its 3rd generation of Bluetooth-compatible hearing aids with the introduction of the new Audéo Lumity, which introduces improvements in speech clarity in background noise.

Rechargeable Hearing Aids

Rechargeable hearing aids have come far in recent years. Despite rechargeable hearing aids being on the market for a while, lithium-ion powered hearing aids have only been on the market since 2016, when Phonak entered the market with its Audéo B-R rechargeable hearing aids. The batteries on the older models of hearing aids weren’t suited to modern day hearing aid technology and usage, resulting in a shorter battery life. The introduction of lithium-ion batteries has resulted in hearing aids being built to last for a full day.
